Hon. Alderman Walter Burnett, Jr.

Chicago, IL 60642-8664

Dear Honorable Alderman Burnett, Jr.:
I am a taxpayer, resident and voter in the 27th Ward and I strongly oppose the closing of the 13th District Police Station at 937 N. Wood St.

Cutting costs should not mean cutting public safety. Money can be saved by not closing the station and also by modernizing this station to make it more efficient.
Nothing is more important to public safety than a strong local police presence.

Our community should not be penalized because we work hard with our local police at the 13th District Wood St. Station to fight crime, conduct neighborhood watches, be vigilant about safety and work closely with our local police leaders.
Our citizens, local businesses, and visitors demand that this station not be closed for the well being and safety of our community, our families, our children, our businesses, and our neighbors. Keep the station open and modernize it.

Sincerely,
